Many film fans will recognise Elizabeth Olsen from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda so her famous family connections sometimes shock people.
The 34-year-old appears again in her latest small screen helping as brings another emotional performance in ITV drama Love & Death. But for Elizabeth it all began growing up as the older sister of child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley.
The Godzilla actress is one of six Olsens, but after her sisters decided to give up acting, she is now leading the way. However, Elizabeth was not always happy being part of her famous family and tried to even distance herself from her Full House starring sisters. She was quoted by Flamour saying: “I guess I understood what nepotism was like inherently as a 10-year-old.
“I don’t know if I knew the word, but there is some sort of association of not earning something that I think bothered me at a very young age.” She added her “insecurities” held her back from auditioning alongside her talented twin sisters. As well as the twins, the WandaVision star has three other siblings – an older brother, younger brother and sister – from her dad David’s second marriage.
Most of the family are in the entertainment industry too – the oldest of the clan Trent Olsen works in film production. Courtney Olsen is also the fourth sister. The 27-year-old has also appeared in films Yolo: The Movie and Malignant Spirits: Sense of Fiction.
Even the baby of the clan Jake turned his hand to modelling in his younger years but has now gone under the radar. Speaking about his family, he said: “In a family of six kids, you learn it’s not always about you. I love every chaotic moment I have when my family is all together. It’s a lot more normal then you would think…we all support each other’s dreams.”
