Jake Paul might not be stepping into the ring to face Mike Tyson on July 20, but he has found a new opponent.

According to TMZ Sports, Paul will square off against Mike Perry. The news comes after the 27-year-old was originally slated to face Tyson, only for the fight to be postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight.

The July 20 fight is scheduled to take place at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, and will be available on DAZN Pay-Per-View.

It won’t be an easy fight for Paul despite defeating Andre August and Ryan Borland in his most recent fights. Perry, a Bare Knuckle FC star, had a solid career in the UFC before making the move to the promotion.

He is the current BKFC champion, claiming wins over the likes of Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez. Despite the challenge, Paul says he’s ready to face his new opponent.

“When Paul vs. Tyson was rescheduled, I knew immediately that I wanted to still fight on Saturday, July 20,” Paul said in a statement.

“Now, as I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, there’s no better opponent for me than Mike Perry. He’s a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring. This is the perfect experience for me to gain in advance of facing Mike Tyson.

“But getting that experience comes with risk. Those who know me know I’m a risk taker and while ‘Platinum’ Perry might try to end me, I’m Titanium Jake Paul and I fear no man.”

Is Paul vs Tyson still happening?

Although it won’t be taking place on July 20, Paul and Tyson will still meet in the ring. The fight will still take place in the home of the Dallas Cowboys – AT&T Stadium in Arlington, despite the Cowboys having a home game just a few days later. It will air on Netflix.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson said after the fight was officially postponed.

“I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties.”

“While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out. On Friday, November 15, watch this in-person at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix.”
