Donald Trump has developed a reputation for doing whatever he wants no matter what, but there’s one person he’ll listen to, it seems — Melania Trump. In her testimony, Madeleine Westerhout revealed that the former first lady would often keep Donald in check. She said, “There was really no one else that could put him in his place, too. He was my boss, but she was definitely the one in charge.” Westerhout shed light on a side of Melania many never get to see.

Westerhout also painted a different picture of Donald and Melania’s relationship. Over the years, many have wondered what’s really going on in their marriage, as people aren’t entirely convinced they care for one another. In 2020, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania’s former aide, told BBC, “I do believe it’s a transactional marriage.” Despite Wolkoff’s claims, that’s not the way Westerhout saw their relationship. She told the jury, “I just remember that… thinking that their relationship was really special. They laughed a lot when she came into the Oval Office.” Spectators probably didn’t see this tidbit about Melania and Donald’s relationship coming — and from Donald’s former White House aide’s testimony, no less — but this information will surely remain a standout detail amid a trial packed with revelations.
