Pacquiao fighting Mario Barrios for WBC welterweight belt being “explored”
It now appears that those three are in the rearview mirror, and this new potential opponent would give PacMan a world title shot upon his return.
According to ESPN, Pacquiao is adamant that he has a lot left to give the sport of boxing “as I haven’t taken a lot of punishment over the last few years“. That may be true, but this is a seriously dangerous opponent he would be facing.
Mario Barrios is 29 years old and at the top of his game once again. He has bounced back from two straight losses to Gervonta Davis and Keith Thurman and reached the WBC welterweight mountaintop.
We’ll see if anything comes of this, but Barrios was quoted as saying he was “very excited” about the fight possibly being made.
