Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao confirmed on Monday in Tokyo that he is ‘negotiating’ a comeback fight at the age of 45 against Mario Barrios.
The former eight-weight world champion attended a media conference in the Japanese capital where Rizin Fighting Federation announced Pacman’s next unofficial bout against Japanese MMA fighter Chihiro Suzuki on July 28th.

“We are still in negotiations,” Pacquiao said. “There’s still a lot of things to discuss”.
Pacquiao is the the only eight-division world champion in boxing history, with a career record 62 wins (39 KOs), eight losses and two draws and has not fought since his loss to Yordenis Ugas in August 2021.
The Filipino star added that if the negotiations come to an agreement, the fight would probably be staged around November or December this year.

“We’re still in under negotiation. And, we’re talking about that. The fight is not materialized yet. But that negotiation is ongoing. So that’s going to be if that fight push through, that going to be by December, or November or December. But, there’s still, a lot of things to discuss and talk about the idea and negotiation so that’s far away to close.”

“I came here to fight this coming July 28th. And, we don’t need the judge. We, I remember that my first and last fight here in Japan, that was, 1998 and, only first round. And that’s my mission to, to come back here to, to do it again like a, although the fight is, three rounds, but, I’ll do my best to make it, faster than that. Thank you.”
“I just want to say to everybody. This is not an exhibition. This is a fight, a three round fight. We will looking for a knockout for this fight. So you better watch, and it’s going to be a lot of action in the ring. And, of course, I’ll do my best to win by knockout. Thank you.”
