Later this week, Yorkshire is predicted to get more than 20C highs, following the rainy weather.

Be prepared to pack your suncream and summer wear as temperatures are predicted to climb throughout the county. The Met Office has predicted hot weather from Wednesday (May 8) onwards.

It comes after a warm spell turned to torrential downpours and thunderstorms which caused flash flooding across Bradford, Leeds and parts of North Yorkshire.

The baking temperatures are forecast to continue rising well into the weekend with highs of 21C. Although, it will remain mostly cloudy throughout with chances of some isolated showers.

On the outlook for Wednesday to Friday, the Met Office has said: “A good deal of fine and dry weather, with variable cloud and sunny spells throughout. Chance of some isolated showers Friday. Some mist and fog patches each morning. Becoming warmer.”
