More wet weather and even some thunder is on its way to Yorkshire this week after days of rain.

The past few days has seen wetter conditions across the county mixed in with some drier days and some sunny spells. Some regions have even seen thunderstorms amid the unsettled conditions. This weather is set to continue into this week, with rain and thunder expected to hit Yorkshire.

According to the Met Office, the weather will be “murky” today with rain, sunny spells and scattered showers throughout the day. These are expected to heavy at times and “potentially thundery”.

The Met Office said: “A rather murky start with outbreaks of rain clearing to sunny spells and scattered showers, these heavy and potentially thundery at times. Maximum temperature 19C.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the week will also see variable weather, with possible thuinder. The Met Office said: “Tuesday sunshine and showers, perhaps heavy and thundery.

“Drier Wednesday but isolated light showers still possible. Likely dry with sunny spells on Thursday. Temperatures near average.”

In the future, there will be a further mixture of settled and unsettled conditions. The Met Office forecast for the period between June 21 and June 30 said: “Following a couple of days of largely fine and settled weather, a gradual transition to more changeable conditions from the Atlantic is likely to take place with periods of cloud, rain and stronger winds most often affecting the west and northwest.

“There remains a small chance of an area of heavy, thundery rain affecting parts of the south on Friday 21, possibly accompanied by briefly hot and humid conditions. Into the last week of June, changeable conditions are likely to remains dominant, with the focus for these conditions continuing to be across the north and west, with spells of more settled and drier conditions likely in the south and east. Nationwide, temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly above average.”
