Mike Tyson knows a thing or two about boxing. The youngest former undisputed champion in history fought 58 fights, won 50, lost six, and drew two, so there is no doubt that he knew what he was talking about when he chose his favorite for the fight on Saturday, May 18, between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury and Usyk will meet this weekend at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a fight that will unify the four heavyweight belts for the first time since Lennox Lewis was crowned undisputed champion in 1999.

Tyson is no stranger to such a scenario. In 1987, the “Kid Dynamite” was crowned undisputed heavyweight champion by defeating Tony Tucker by decision, thus adding the IBF belt to the WBA and WBC belts he already possessed.

The weekend’s fight is already controversial, with both contenders escalating their verbal exchanges at each promotional event. Now, Tyson added fuel to the bonfire, ensuring that Tyson Fury will be the one who comes out with his arm raised.

Iron Mike’s prediction

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Tyson did not hesitate to point out Fury as the winner. “I’m going towards Tyson Fury because I think he’s just going to overpower him (Usyk),” said the former champion in the talk.

Tyson explained, “He’s going to catch up with him and overpower him. I got to go with Fury. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division.”

Oddsmakers agree with Mike. At the moment, the odds slightly favor the Englishman with +105 against +100 for the Ukrainian. The tie is at +1,500.

Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Meanwhile, Tyson is preparing for his fight next June against influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul. The fight is controversial not only because of the age gap between the contenders but because, recently, the organizers managed to get it sanctioned as a professional fight.

Tyson and Paul continually show videos of their training on their social media, and what they have shown has experts and fans divided. Many are concerned about Iron Mike’s age. Others, for their part, consider that Mike’s punching power would be dangerous for the Problem Child, especially under professional rules.

With both fights getting closer, fans can’t help but be excited for what professional boxing has to offer in the coming weeks.
