The Mavs have been much, much better in this first quarter with Doncic nailing 13 points and Irving scoring eight.

The Celtics nailed their first three-pointer just seconds before the buzzer but they will keep shooting.

Aussie Josh Green made a strong play late faking Porzingis into the air and drawing a foul on his three at the buzzer.

Green made two out of three free throws.

Once again, Kristaps Porzingis has again made an impact with four points and a block since coming into the game.

But Luka Doncic is the story of the first quarter. He was listed as questionable pregame with what appeared to be a back problem along with his knee issues but he has overcome that and a couple of early misses to find his range.

Doncic has 11 points out of his club’s first 20.

The Mavs lost the challenge and won’t have any challenges left for the rest of the game.

Washington got the hand first and then when the ball came loose hit his hand, which under NBA rules, counts as a foul.

That could be a costly decision for the Mavs.

Most importantly, Boston have gone on a 4-0 run after it.

PJ Washington was called for a foul as he blocked Derrick White on a drive to the hoop.

Washington immediately twirled his finger towards the Dallas bench asking coach Jason Kidd to challenge as he was certain it was all ball.

Sometimes, players do this even when they have fouled the player but the Mavs did a quick check and then called for a challenge.

There were no challenges in game one but, on first look at the replay, it looks like Washington’s foul could be overturned.

DAL 13, BOS 6 with seven mins to go in Q1.

Jason Kidd told the Mavs after game one that they had to shoot the ball or they could sit on the bench and his team has responded in game two.

They are firing at will and have a 13-6 lead following a long jump from Irving.

The Celtics are not happy but surely they expected the Mavs to respond early.

Both clubs scored on their first possessions.

Love this video from ESPN showing Luka Doncic taking a selfie with a young Celtics fan who gave him a heartfelt thanks before adding “Celtics in four” and showing Luka four fingers.

The fans are flocking into the TD Garden for game two. It is Sunday evening in America so plenty of fans will be making a day around this matchup.
