The Kansas City Chiefs‘ Patrick Mahomes has rarely been on the wrong side of history with just one loss in Super Bowls but is he right about Caitlin Clark after the iconic quarterback said she will go on to dominate the WNBA?
Clark was selected as the first pick in the 2024 Draft after an exception college season with the Iowa Hawkeyes saw her smash the men’s and women’s points scoring records, taking the overall crown away from Pete Maravich after 54 years.

As far as dominating a sport goes, Mahomes knows what’s what. The 28-year-old has three Super Bowl rings, 219 career touchdowns, over 2300 completed passes for over 28000 yards and has allowed just 63 interceptions as he stakes his claim to be the best QB of all team. So what did he think about Clark?
“A tremendous player,” Mahomes said of Clark, then an Iowa Hawkeye. “Tremendous person from every time I’ve met with her.
“You can tell she loves the game. She loves playing at Iowa. One of the best college basketball players to ever play and then she’ll go to the WNBA and dominate there as well.”

Clark‘s found her transition to professional basketball tough as players gang up on her and get physical to try to shut down her best talents, meaning the 22-year-old has only shot for 30 points or more once with the Indiana Fever.
The guard has shot for 15.6 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game and 6.4 assists per game throughout her rookie season in 2023/24 across 11 games, with her high coming against the Los Angeles Sparks when she posted 30 points.
Despite her struggles, Mahomes still backed her to turn good and predicted her to dominate the WNBA whilst she was in college.
