Caitlin Clark has received valuable advice from tennis legend Serena Williams, who understands all too well the pressures of early success and the sports spotlight. Williams, who rose to prominence at a young age, shared her wisdom with Clark who is in her rookie WNBA season.

Despite the inevitable media attention, Williams noted that Clark has remained focused on her development as a player. Williams praised Clark for staying grounded amidst the hype and maintaining her concentration on improving her skills.

“I just love that she tries to stay grounded,” Williams said.

“She said she doesn’t look at her social [media], I get it, I don’t either. I think it’s so important to just continue doing what she’s doing, no matter what other people do. If people are negative, it’s because they can’t do what you do, basically. And hopefully she’ll continue to do what she’s doing.”

Transitioning from college basketball to the WNBA has brought significant attention to Clark, some of which can be daunting.

A solid rookie season

Clark has shown her talent on the court, averaging 15.6 points, six assists and 4.9 rebounds per game over 14 games.

Although the Indiana Fever have had a challenging start to the season, with a 4-10 record placing them 10th in the Eastern Conference, the team shows potential with young talents like Clark and former Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston.
