Donald Trump isn’t waiting for Thursday’s prime time debate to insult his rival, even taking a dig at his golf game.
Amid speculation President Biden would seek out ways to get under Trump’s skin to lure him into self-defeating bluster, Trump pushed out a stream of online invective on Wednesday, accusing Biden of planting stories, cheating in college, lying generally, and being bad at golf.
Trump, an avid golfer who retreated to his Mar-a-Lago club after skipping Biden’s inauguration in 2020, also rolled out a new nickname for Biden: ‘Lying machine.’
That comes after repeatedly calling him ‘crooked,’ an insult he adapted from his 2016 campaign against Hillary Clinton.
‘Crooked Joe Biden‘s ‘Handlers’ are loudly and profusely complaining that there will be no Fact Checkers during the Debate on Thursday. Actually, that is just DISINFORMATION – They could not be happier, because there is nobody that’s as loose with the TRUTH as Crooked Joe,’ Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

CNN’s political director has said the goal is to let the candidates address each other, with the network providing fact checks after the fact. That could be a green light for candidates to twist the facts to win a point without facing immediate consequences.
‘From the 51 Fake Intelligence Agents, to Russia, Russia, Russia, to the Fake ‘Suckers and Losers Story’ he created about our beloved Military, to cheating in College and saying he was first in his Law School Class when he was actually LAST, to claiming he marched for Civil Rights, drove trucks, and has a 6.2 Handicap (He can’t hit the Golf Ball 10 yards, but that’s a minor detail!), and so many more falsehoods, the man is a walking LYING MACHINE, and a Fact Checker’s DREAM,’ Trump wrote.
The ‘Fake Intelligence Agents’ refers to the senior intelligence officials who joined to say Hunter Biden’s laptop had the hallmarks of a Russian operation. (In fact, the laptop has been confirmed to be his. A repair store owner says Hunter left it there, and Hunter sued Trump ally Rudy Giuliani over its release).
Trump says Biden ‘created’ a story about Trump calling people who serve in the military suckers and losers, but it has actually been attributed to former Trump chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly.
In addition to calling Biden a ‘lying machine’, Trump added, ‘Maybe we should call him ‘Lyin’ Joe’ in addition to Crooked?’
Trump repurposed that insult after applying it for former FBI chief James Comey and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Trump’s concern about the lack of fact checkers comes after Washington Post reporters determined he made 30,573 false or misleading during his tenure.
Trump himself was inaccurate when describing how Biden inflated his law school performance.
Biden claimed in in a memorable confrontation while campaigning for president in New Hampshire in 1987 to be in the ‘top half’ of his law school class. Fact checkers established that he finished near the bottom. Biden snapped at a reporter at the time, ‘I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do,’ and soon ended his primary run.
Biden’s claim of driving an 18-wheeler has been debunked. (The White House once tried to count Biden’s part-time job driving a school bus).
Each contender seems to have concluded that golf attacks have some sting. Back in March, Biden mocked Trump after the former president posted online about winning a pair of trophies at his own golf club.
‘Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment,’ Biden wrote.
