USC head coach Andy Enfield addressed the media this week in the aftermath of the Trojans’ recent defeat against Oregon, taking a moment to discuss the performance of his highly-scrutinized freshman, Bronny James.
Earlier in the year, Bronny faced a medical emergency that raised concerns about a potential season-long absence. Remarkably, the young player made a swift comeback from a cardiac arrest, however, his physical conditioning has not fully returned to its usual level.

What did coach Enfield say about Bronny James?
Enfield candidly acknowledged this during his media interaction, offering a critique of James’ conditioning.
“Bronny was very solid. He’s still getting back into basketball shape. He gets winded, so we have to give him breaks, but he’s really good at asking to come out of the game. He’s a very impressive young man,” Enfield declared.
In a 15-minute stint off the bench, LeBron James‘ son contributed five points, three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Enfield commended his positive impact on the game, praising the youngster for his energy.
“He gave us good energy off the bench. He just needs to keep getting better. It’s only his fourth game, and so he’s a big part of our team, like our other guys, and we need that,” he added.
“We need all of our guys to improve, including him.”
Despite the recent scrutiny surrounding Bronny’s early-season challenges, coach Enfield appears unworried.
