But the matter was adjourned to allow the VMC time to produce evidence of the lease before the matter goes to trial.

The RSL’s lawyer, Nathan Ebbs, told WAtoday the RSL was hopeful the matter would be resolved by mutual agreement, but that the organisation would take it to trial if need be.

Conflict between the two entities began back in February after allegations were made that Nollamara RSL was being run like a bikie clubhouse with skimpy barmaids.

The Veterans Motorcycle Club deny this and allege they are being used as a scapegoat for the issue as their building sits next to the RSL’s and many VMC members are also on the sub-branch’s committee.

But VMC spokesperson Peter Nicholls told this masthead they were investigated by WA Police after the complaints were made and no criminal activity, drugs or unlawful behaviour was discovered.

“We’re not bikies,” he said.

“We have friends who are, but we are not associated with them. We are a group who helps the community with food drives and providing shelter for those in need.

“Looking after our veterans is our priority and to see us evicted from our clubhouse after 30 years is devastating.”

It comes after WA Police investigated claims the RSL unlawfully entered VMC property and stole items belonging to the club, an investigation which is no longer active.

VMC claim the building holds history and sentimental value to them.
