Who is Jude Malcolm Yeun?

American celebrity child Jude Malcolm Yeun was born under the zodiac sign Pisces on 17 March 2017. He’s perhaps only known for being the only son of American actor Yeun Sang-yeop, probably known better as Steven Yeun, and American photographer Joana Pak.

Jude’s being raised in Los Angeles, California alongside his younger sister, born in April 2019, by their parents who, even though very busy, still spend a lot of their time with their children.

Jude’s parents rarely speak about their love life in public but it’s widely known that they exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony on 3 December 2016, a couple of months before Jude was born; it’s believed that they had been in a relationship for a couple of years prior to marrying.

Jude’s recently enrolled at local elementary school and it’s believed that he’s already become interested in acting, wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps, however, this hasn’t been confirmed.

He has 53 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring as Jacob in the 2020 drama movie “Minari”, which also starred Alan Kim and Yeri Han, and which Lee Isaac Chung wrote and directed. It follows the lives of members of a Korean-American family who’ve begun living on a farm in Arkansas, and the movie won 121 of its 366 award nominations, including an Oscar win for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, for Youn Yuh-jung.

Steven was four years old when his father, South Korean architect Je Yeun moved the family to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; his mother’s name is June Yeun hey, and they eventually moved to the US, and settled in Troy, Michigan. He has a brother Brian.

Steven studied at Ruth M. Buck Elementary School in Regina, and then at Troy High School upon moving to Michigan; he was passionate about various activities during his teenage years as he loved to play various sports, enjoyed appearing in school plays, and was on the school’s debate team. Upon matriculating in 2002, Steven enrolled at Kalamazoo College, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2005.

Steven’s acting career

Steven launched his career by voicing Korean soldiers in the 2007 video game “Crysis” and its 2008 sequel “Crysis Warhead”; his debut film role came in 2009, when cast to play Chaz in the popular comedy “Jerry”, which starred Allison Scagliotti, Katlyn Carlson and Doug Jones, and was written and directed by Morgan Mead. It follows the life of door-to-door book salesman Jerry, and the movie won six of its eight award nominations.

A couple of Steven’s following roles were in the 2009 short comedy film “The Kari Files”, the 2010 short comedy film “Carpe Millennium” and the 2010 short comedy movie “Blowout Sale”, and the year 2010 also saw him make his debut TV series appearance, playing Sebastian in the episode “The Staircase Implementation” of the critically acclaimed comedy “The Big Bang Theory”.

In 2013, Steven portrayed Martin in the comedy movie “Filthy”, which starred Hannah Kasulka, Chelsea Harris and Marshall Allman, and was directed by Alex Fernie; it follows the lives of several teenagers who are attending the Hathaway School for the Wealthy. Some of Steven’s following roles were in the 2014 animated action adventure series “The Legend of Korra” (voice role), the 2014 romantic mystery movie “I Origins” and the 2014 comedy series “The Soup”.

From 2010 through 2016, he portrayed Glenn Rhee in the thriller horror series “The Walking Dead”, created by Frank Darabont in 2010, and which ended in 2022. It starred Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride and Andrew Lincoln, follows a group of people trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies, and the series won 84 of more than 300 awards for which it was nominated. Steven could then have been seen appearing in the action horror comedy movie “Mayhem”, the action adventure film “Okja”, and the comedy series “Bajillion Dollar Propertie$”, all released in 2017.

He portrayed Squeeze in the 2018 fantasy comedy movie “Sorry to Bother You”, which starred Jermaine Fowler, Tessa Thompson and LaKeith Stanfield, and was written and directed by Boots Riley. It follows the life of telemarketer Cassius Green, and the movie won 19 of its 75 award nominations.

From 2016 through 2018, Steven voiced Keith in 64 episodes of the popular animated action adventure “Voltron: Legendary Defender”, and the year 2019 saw him appear in an episode of the science fiction comedy series “Weird City”, the fantasy horror series “The Twilight Zone”, and the comedy series “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”.

In 2020, he voiced Steve in all 10 episodes of the popular animated action adventure mini-series “Wizards”, which starred James Faulkner, David Bradley and Colin O’Donoghue, and was created by Guillermo del Toro. It follows a group of wizards who’ve embarked on an adventure, and the mini-series won three of its eight award nominations.

The year 2022 saw Steven play Ricky ‘Jupe’ Park in the horror mystery science fiction movie “Nope”, which starred Brandon Perea, Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya, and was written and directed by Jordan Peele. It follows the residents of a lonely gulch in inland California who’ve made a chilling discovery, and the film won 31 of its 177 award nominations.

Some of Steven’s most recent roles have been in all 10 episodes of the 2023 comedy mini-series “Beef” (lead role), the 2023 episode “Nam June Paik: Moon Is the Oldest TV” of the biographical documentary musical series “American Masters”, and 11 episodes of the animated action adventure series “Invincible” since 2021 (voice role).

Steven’s won 23 of his 87 award nominations, including a 2021 Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, for “Minari”.
