No one was safe from Peyton Manning’s trolling Wednesday night at the 57th Country Music Awards. The former quarterback dished out shots to the entire NFL, but the joke that took home the night was aimed at the New York Jets… via Taylor Swift.

The two-time Super Bowl champion co-hosted the CMAs with singer Luke Bryan for the second year in a row. Between them, they made fun of both the biggest country music stars and NFL players and teams.

To flare their opening dialogue, Manning asked Bryan“We’re back. Do you know what that means?” to which he responded, “Yes, Travis and Taylor were not available.” The latter, in reference to the publicized romance between the singer-songwriter and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

The jokes at the expense of the “Eras” singer did not end there, however, the object of the roast was different. “Luke, do you know the difference between Taylor Swift and the New York Jets,”Payton asked, and his co-host responded, “Uh, Taylor can fill a stadium!”

“I had you do that punchline, Luke, so I don’t get in trouble,”Manning justified.

Not even the Manning family was safe.

It is well known that the Manning brothers have an excellent relationship, however, it reached a new level at the CMAs when Bryan targeted the Jelly Roll’s iconic look.

Jelly Roll is so inspirational. He has my mom considering a face tattoo,” said the singer, and the former player responded, “The Mannings are already way ahead of you, pal. Eli got his already,” then the monitor showed a doctored image of the youngest Manning with doodles all over his face.

The chemistry between the hosts is so good that a few weeks ago, Luke revealed that the CMA organizers tried to ensure their return almost from the moment the 2022 installment ended.

In an interview for Good Morning America, the “Drunk on You” singer assured that despite the jokes and mockery towards some people, the most important thing is entertaining the audience and people at home.

Peyton reveals his talent for hosting

This is not the first nor the only hosting gig the former Denver Broncos quarterback has had. Peyton has hosted the ManningCast podcast for three years now with his brother Eli, which airs simultaneously with the NFL’s Monday Night game.

In their most recent broadcast, the brothers had as guests the “Governator” himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Although Peyton has displayed talent and wit on broadcast, the podcast is struggling to maintain its audience, and its future is uncertain.
