The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers left the weekend as winners, but one of the main talking points that stemmed out of it pertained to a certain NFL color commentator: Greg Olsen.

Olsen once again proved to be arguably the best analyst in NFL media, as he called the NFC Championship game and was littered with praise from football fans and industry experts alike. But all good things must come to an end, and that’s the case with Olsen as well.

Tom Brady to take over for Greg Olsen at Fox Sports

On Tuesday, Tom Brady confirmed that he will begin working as Fox Sports’ top color commentator starting in 2024, replacing Olsen.

Brady made sure to praise Olsen, who he “loves listening to“. It’s unclear what Olsen’s role will be with Fox going forward, or if a competitor will try to poach him to be their No. 1 guy.

Fox signed Brady back in 2022, but he took a year off to get his mind right before taking on the position. That allowed Olsen to flourish, but it’s now Brady’s job. Fox invested a ton in getting Brady: $375 million over 10 years.

Brady will call all of the big games on Fox – including the 2025 Super Bowl – until that contract runs out or he calls it quits. Fans will be blessed by the expertise of the greatest quarterback of all-time, but many may miss Olsen when all is said and done.
