Everyone knows Gareth Bale loves golf. It became a running joke as he reached the final years of his career that Bale would rather play golf than soccer.
It led to a trolling celebration after Wales qualified for Euro 2020, in reference to a comment made by former Real Madrid player and sporting director Pedja Mijatovic: “Wales. Golf. And Madrid.“

Bale retired from soccer in 2023 after helping LAFC win the MLS Cup and participating in the 2022 World Cup with Wales. Since then, it has seemingly been all golf, day in and day out for the aficionado. Most recently, he was present at the BMW PGA Pro-Am and sharing the course with Rory McIlroy.
With Bale spending so much time on the greens, golf partnerships have become more frequent and possible for the Welshman. On Thursday, 2K Sports announced that Bale is now available as a playable character on PGA Tour 2K23.

The video shows how they captured his likeness, and the rendering looks as close to the real Bale as technologically possible.
2K also helped create a “Dream Course” for Bale, which he’s dubbing “The Elevens Club“. It will be playable in the game.

PGA Tour 2K23 currently sports a 76 metascore on Metacritic, although the user score is 4.3. Its direct rival EA Sports PGA Tour also has a 76 metascore, but it sports a slightly better 6.5 user score.
