Yoly and Xander had a three-week fling. But, despite this, Mal’s commitment to Yoly never faltered.
Mal was clear about his feelings. He told Yoly, “It’s always been you.” Then, he took a knee and popped the question. “Will you do life with me? Will you marry me?”
Yoly took a moment before saying yes. Then, she asked, “What took you so long?”
But, Yoly wasn’t completely sure. She admitted, “If Xander were to fight for me, I don’t know what I would say.”
Yoly and Mal got engaged. But, at the reunion, Mal revealed they were “happily broken up.” There was a clash over the exact timeline of their breakup.
Yoly had fears. She said, “My fear was that as soon as the cameras stopped filming, we were going to go back to our ways that I know of.” And that’s what happened. They spent some time apart.
During the separation, Yoly said, “This isn’t going to work out.” Mal didn’t fight back.
After watching the show, Mal saw Yoly’s interactions with Xander. This changed her perspective on their relationship. “You feel like a dangerous stranger to me,” she said to Yoly. “I had your back so hard and all you did was make a complete fool out of me.”
