2 westbound lanes on Kapiolani Boulevard in Kaimuki closed due to police investigation

Honolulu police have closed two westbound lanes on Kapiolani Boulevard in Kaimuki due to a police investigation.

Officers responded to the area of 2828 Kapiolani Boulevard shortly before noon today.

Police said a fatality occurred in the area. Details on the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available.

Lt. Deena Thoemmes of the Honolulu Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division’s Homicide Detail is expected to speak to the media later today.

The lane closures are near Kaimuki High School. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
