Moreover, he was named chief political correspondent in 2002 and covered President George W. Bush’s re-election in 2004 as well as Barack Obama’s win in 2008.
In the summer of 2010, he was named the paper’s Los Angeles bureau chief. In April 2020, he joined the Times’ politics bureau, where he assisted in covering the 2020 presidential race. He was designated West Coast culture correspondent in April 2021. In 2023, he returned to reporting national politics. As part of his journalism works, he is a writer. Moreover, he co-authored a book named “Out for Good” a history of the modern gay rights movement.
