AYESHA CURRY REGRETS OVEREXPOSING KIDS TO SOCIAL MEDIA

Ayesha Curry regrets overexposing her kids to social media. The celebrity mom tells INSIDER exclusively how she and her husband, Steph Curry, are now limiting their children’s use of technology.

“When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become,” Ayesha shares. “If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it,” she admits. “But we were just genuinely living our lives back then. And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along.’”

Riley Curry was first exposed to the media when she accompanied her father to a post-game press conference. The youngster made a lasting impact as, in many ways, she became the star of the meeting. Some scrutinized Steph for allowing his then-two-year-old daughter to accompany him to a press conference. Many, however, appreciated the exuberance Riley brought to the table and looked forward to seeing even more of the youngster in the public sphere.

One instance, in particular, that brought Riley loads of attention came in 2019 when the little one used her mom’s old iPhone to go online during one of her father’s basketball games.

“She does not have [a cellphone] but she’s stolen one of my old phones before and snuck it to one of the games,” Ayesha shared with Access Hollywood. “And iCloud is real because the video popped up on my phone and I was like, ‘Girl, if you don’t give me back my phone. You don’t have a phone, and you’re not getting one until you’re in high school,’” the celebrity mom shared of the occasion.

Steph and Ayesha have significantly tightened the reigns when it comes to how their kids interact with technology since 2019. Still, the celebrity parents are open to allowing their children to enjoy some forms of entertainment online.
“Where’s the middle ground, where we’re strict, but we’re also allowing our kids to experience life,” Curry asks. “We’re trying to figure out what that balance is,” the celebrity mom shares with INSIDER. “Just kind of learn as you go, right?”

Riley is the oldest of Steph and Ayesha Curry’s three children.
