Danielle Pletka was born on January 12, 1963, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Her age is currently 60 years old. However, there is no information about her parents and other family members. Her position at Insight on the News was as a staff writer. Pletka served the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations’ Republican Chairman (and ranking member), Senator Jesse Helms, from 1992 to 2002 as Senior Professional Staff Member for the Near East and South Asia.

Additionally, Pletka was appointed vice president for foreign and defense policy at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a right-leaning think tank in Washington, DC, in March 2002. The Washington Post described her at the time of her hiring as “a staunch conservative with a caustic manner.” Howard J. Wiarda claims that after Pletka took over the position from Jeane Kirkpatrick, who had a Ph.D. and was a full professor at Columbia University, there was some tension within AEI because Pletka was not a scholar herself.

Moreover, Pletka left her position as the institute’s vice president for foreign and defense policy in January 2020 but she is still a senior fellow there. Additionally, she holds the Andrew H. Siegel Chair in American Middle Eastern Foreign Policy at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Howard J. Wiarda described Pletka as not being a neoconservative, but Eli Lake described her as a well-known neoconservative. Jacob Heilbrunn stated in a 2008 commentary that Peltka had been “closely identified with neocon positions on Iraq and Iran. However, neocons are now extremely hostile toward her, claiming that she is trying to eradicate neocon influence at AEI because she formerly worked for Jesse Helms, who represented more conventional Republican foreign-policy principles.

Pletka understood that she was “not a big fan of torture” but argued that it could be justified in certain situations during a conflict, such as “if it is absolutely imperative to find out something at that moment.” Pletka criticized the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report on CIA torture in 2014, which found the agency guilty of using torture methods. She argued that the CIA techniques produced usable intelligence and were legally permitted by the Justice Department, calling the report “Feinstein’s partisan screed”.

In 2020 op-ed for The Washington Post, Pletka expressed her concern that Democratic nominee Joe Biden “would begin an assault on the institutions of government that preserve the nation’s small ‘d’ democracy” and expressed the possibility that she “may be forced to vote for” Republican incumbent President Donald Trump because “he wears his sins on the outside.” The Washington Post’s Alexandra Petri made fun of this op-ed in an article titled “I can’t believe you’re forcing me to vote for Trump, which I definitely didn’t already want to do.”

Danielle holds straight sexuality. As for her marital status, she is a married man. She tied the knot with Stephen Rademaker. Her husband is a professional ex-Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation (including head of the Bureau of Arms Control) in the administration of President George W.
