Amber Davies has recalled her ‘out of body experience’ of having her drink spiked and subsequently being rushed to hospital.
The Welsh actress, 27, rose to fame in 2017 when she won the third series Love Island alongside her ex Kem Cetinay, 27.
Yet just a year later Amber was the victim of a horrific drink spiking ordeal while on a night out in the pub with friends in North Wales.
The reality TV personality-turned-stage star is now fronting a spiking awareness campaign with Malibu, using her own experience as a platform to help others.
Recalling the traumatic ordeal, Amber told MailOnline: ‘I got spiked – god I think it was about five or six years ago now.

‘To be honest I couldn’t tell you exactly what happened because for me personally it was a blur.
‘It was an out of body experience.’
Amber said she was fortunate because her cousin happened to be in the pub opposite and emergency services were called straight away.
At the time, it was reported she was seen ‘stumbling and screaming in a car park’, before collapsing outside the Plough Inn.
She continued: ‘I was with all my friends and it was a nice night but it took a turn for the worst – but that’s how it happens!
‘What they did was they called emergency services straight away and that’s the best thing to do.
‘At that point I don’t think anybody knew what was going on – we didn’t know if I’d had a bad reaction to food, we didn’t know what was going on.’
After visiting her nearest 24-hour GP, Amber was told to sleep off the symptoms, adding that the effect on her family has been the greatest.
‘It was just so scary,’ she admitted. ‘Although I don’t remember half of it to be honest.’
The Welsh beauty is currently playing lead Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman and is also set to appear on next year’s Dancing On Ice, having previously starred in 9 To 5 and Back To The Future.

But she is making time in her busy schedule to raise awareness for drink spiking, using an acronym of BABES to help others know what to do, should spiking occur – where Amber and her friends were initially stuck for where to turn.
Amber added: ‘It’s such an important message to get out there but not in a scary way.
‘From my perspective I have so many young female followers that I just think it’s a really important message.
‘For example my baby cousin is going to uni next year and it’s really important for people to know.
‘Everybody knows what to do if there’s a fire – you go to a safe space. So it’s good to know for this situation too.’
‘If I’d had this message years ago maybe the situation would have turned out differently.’
And putting on a brave face, she said: ‘There’s no scarier experience than going on Love Island, I can tell you that for free!
‘It was just an uncomfortable situation and I learnt a lot from it. If anything it was a big learning experience and an educating one as well.’
Amber is dating her Back To The Future co-star Ben Joyce, after splitting from Nick Kyriacou.
Confirming the relationship on Lorraine earlier this year, she sweetly admitted: ‘I accidentally fell in love with my co-star’.
