State transportation officials say the left lane of the closed Kailua-bound side of the Pali Highway should be reopened shortly after crews block off the right lane where a tree had fallen.
A large tree fell onto the roadway, officials said, closing the Kailua-bound lanes from Waokanaka to the Pali off-ramp.
State Department of Transportation said in a earlier tweet that its crews were assessing the hillside on Kailua side of “the second tunnel” following a landslide this afternoon
Rush-hour commuters were advised to take the Likelike Highway and H-3 to get to Windward Oahu.
No further information was immediately released.
