H-1 eastbound closed at Waialae offramp due to vehicle collision

The H-1 freeway is closed in the eastbound direction from the Waialae offramp due to a vehicle collision investigation.

A 22-year-old man operating a motorcycle is in critical condition after colliding with another vehicle on the H-1 freeway in the Kahala area this evening, the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services reported.

The collision took place at around 9 p.m. on the freeway’s eastbound lanes, EMS said. Paramedics administered advanced life support to the patient for life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to a trauma hospital.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
