Harry Enfield is a prominent British comedian, actor, writer, and director. Harry Enfield is best known for his work as an actor and writer, for “Kevin & Perry Go Large” (2000), “Harry & Paul’s Story of the 2s” (2014), and “Ruddy Hell! It’s Harry and Paul” (2007).

Early Life

Harry Enfield was born on the 30th of May 1961, in Horsham, Sussex, England. He holds British nationality and belongs to the White-British ethnicity. In addition, he is currently 62 years old, and according to the astrological chart, he has a birth sign Gemini.

Professional Career

Harry Enfield first came to wide public attention when he appeared on Channel 4’s Saturday Live as several different characters created with Paul Whitehouse.

Following Saturday Live, he moved to the BBC, where he made his sketch show “Harry Enfield’s Television Programme,” and then Harry Enfield and Chums with fellow comedians Paul Whitehouse (later of Fast Show fame) and Kathy Burke. This resulted in more well-known characters such as “Mr. and Mrs. Loadsamoney”, “Tory Boy”, “Wayne Slob” and “Kevin The Teenager”.

Mr. Cholmondley-Warner and Grayson, played by Enfield and Whitehouse (in fact, Jon Glover), appeared for several years in the series’ mock 1950s information film sketches and in television commercials for Mercury Communications, the first of the privatized UK telephone companies.

Film Debut

Enfield made his feature film debut in “Kevin & Perry Go Large” in 2000, portraying “Kevin” alongside Kathy Burke, who played the character’s male friend “Perry” – characters created originally for the television series.

Additionally, he has also been in a number of successful commercials, including the 1996 run for Dime Bar. In one notable commercial from this series, Enfield played a country yokel who refused a Dime bar with its crunchy centre because he preferred armadilloes, which were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.

After a brief break, he got a new contract with Sky Television but only produced one series, which was a disappointment. He returned to BBC 2003 with “Celeb,” a new series featuring a new ageing rockstar personality, “Gary Bloke.”

Additionally, he portrayed Jim Stonem in the Channel 4 program “Skins” in 2007. He returned to the role in the second and third series, both in 2008. He has also directed two episodes of Skins in season two, “Chris” and “Tony” in 2008.

Other Acting Works

Meanwhile, he appeared as Martin, the father of Jack Whitehall’s character Alfie, in the BBC Three comedy series Bad Education in September 2013. Enfield and Paul Whitehouse reprised their roles as Frank and George in a sketch for Channel 4’s testicular cancer awareness comedy show “The Feeling Nuts Comedy Night” in October 2014.

He also starred in “Churchill: The Hollywood Years” (2004) as King George VI. Moreover, he played Martin again in “The Bad Education Movie,” which was released on August 21, 2015. In the 2015 film Scottish Mussel, he played Bill.

Enfield and Jessica Hynes starred as Mr. and Mrs. Jackson in a BBC adaptation of Arthur Ransome’s children’s story Swallows and Amazons in 2015. He portrayed Tony Blair in the made-for-television biographical musical comedy film “Prince Andrew: The Musical” in 2022.
