Moreno signed a US$ 4.5 million deal with AZ Alkmaar in December 2007. He appeared in 80 games for AZ, scoring six goals in the process. He was recruited by Spanish club Espanyol for an undisclosed price in the summer of 2011. His injuries during the 2014 World Cup reportedly prevented him from signing with Manchester United. PSV Eindhoven, a Dutch club, signed him for €5 million in August 2015.
