John Lehners was an engineer by profession. John Lehners had a great engineering setup with many operations in North America. He was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Peace Area Engineering Society for his great work and dedication toward the competition for the development of the Enterprise. 

He had also volunteered for many groups, including Grand Prairie Legends Hockey Council, Alberta Cancer Foundation, and the Swan City Rotary Club. He was the main person for nine years as a trustee on the Grad prairie Public Schools Board of Trustees.

He also managed the Grande Prairie City Council’s work, which started in October 2021. John Lehners worked for a better and more advanced city. He had worked very hard for about 21 years in Beairsto Lehners Ketchum Engineering before founding Design Works Engineering, a full-time developing company capturing the major parts of Canada. 

He also spent four years on the board of the Alberta Health Services and around three years on the board of the Alberta School Boards Association. This makes us understand how passionate he was about his work. He always supported the development and held many positions in his entire life.

John Lehners had four members in his family who were named Donna, Adam, Analise, Hugo, and Tory. He was completely devoted to them and loved them very much.
