Mingo Falls is a 120 ft (37 m) high waterfall located close to the Indian town of Cherokee in North Carolina, USA.
It is the tallest waterfall in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The term Mingo is a Cherokee word which means “Big Bear”.
The West Indians in Cherokee may have named it “Mingo” hence it is unofficially refered to us “Big Bear Falls”.
