Online classes can become boring as you are the only person in the room. When you are studying all by yourself without a physical teacher or other students in the room, you can easily get distracted, and staying focused on the goal can be tough. In conventional classrooms, attentiveness typically comes naturally as the teacher can see your face and its expressions. The attentiveness of the other students can also be motivating. However, when there are online classes, the attention span is reduced drastically. This was a major challenge identified by students and parents, especially during COVID-19 and the months that followed it.

  1. Dedicated Study Space

Do not make your bedroom, kitchen countertop, or study space while doing other things. Make sure you have a separate and quiet study space to dedicate only to your studies. You have to train your mind that you are not allowed to do anything else on that table except study at any given particular time. 

  1. Remove Distractions

The establishment of a dedicated study space is in itself a strong step towards removing any kind of distractions that might cause problems for you. After this, you have to ensure that the background noises, like TV, music, etc., are turned off if you really want to focus entirely on the lecture and the study materials. The classwork is the only thing that should be open on your browser, and every other application or website, like Netflix, music streaming websites, etc., should be closed down. Avoid procrastination by removing things that distract you from your work and priorities. 

  1. Rewards

Reward yourself with breaks. Online classes can become boring after a point of time. So, give yourself a 10-minute break after every 30 minutes of religious studying. This could help you take the edge off, and the break can be used for different purposes like scrolling through social media, playing a short game, eating, going to the washroom, etc. The rewards can be of different kinds as well. 

  1. Study Group

Having a study group can really help you focus. Your friends can keep you motivated. You can watch them studying, and your friends can discuss the questions or important things together. This would also help you retain the information for a longer period. Interaction with peers can be fun as long as you ensure that you also focus on your studies while discussing other subjects of life. 

  1. Handwritten Notes

Using a computer screen for studying can also be tiring for your eyes. It can also become a little disturbing to carry a screen all the time. That is why it is advised that you write notes on paper and use them to study rather than use your screen. The notes can also be used to memorize content more easily.
