Josh Frost and Lane Frost are prominent personalities of the rodeo family. Besides their same surname and coming from a rodeo family, they are also related.
Lane Frost was a professional rodeo cowboy specializing in bull riding and competed in PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). The 1987 PRCA World Champion bull rider was a 1990 inductee of the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.
Lane was the only rider to earn qualified rides on Red Rock on the 1990 ProRodeo Hall of Fame bull and the 1987 PRCA Bucking Bull of the Year.

Is Josh Frost Related To Lane Frost? Are They Cousins?
The late rodeo cowboy Lane Frost is the second cousin of Josh Frost. As Josh is also a member of a Rodeo family and has accomplished significant successes, many people wondered if he is related to the world champion bull rider and five-time NFR qualifier Lane Frost.
Josh and Lane never met. When Josh Frost was born, it had been seven years since Lane died in a tragic incident.
Lane Frost was born in Lapoint, Utah, to his parents, Clyde and Elsie. Lane’s Father was on the rodeo circuit as a saddle bronc. The late bull rider had a younger brother, Cody and an elder sister, Robin.
Lane began riding dairy claves at a young age. The legendary rider earned his first rodeo awards at the Little Buckaroos when he was 10.
After finishing high school in 1982, Frost became a member of the PRCA and started competing regularly in rodeo. At 24, he won the PRCA World Championship Bull Riding in 1987.
The Growney Bros. Rodeo Company’s bull Red Rock won the title of “Bucking Bull of the Year.” In 1988 at the Challenge of the Champions, Frost gave it a shot and won four of the seven exhibition bouts he rode in.
He later participated in the Rodeo ’88 Challenge Cup, a part of the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics’ Cultural Olympiad.
Unfortunately, he died at 25 after severe injuries at the 1989 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. On 30 July 1989, a bull named Takin’ Care of Business hit him in the back after the ride, breaking many ribs and causing internal injuries.
Josh Frost Family And Ethnicity
Josh Frost was born in the mid-1990s to his parents, Shane and Lisa Frost. As of 2023, he is 27 years old.
The skilled rider has two brothers, Joe and Jate, and a sister, jacelyne Frost. Josh hails from a family of bull riders and is the third-generation PRCA Cowboy. His grandfather, Joe Frost and his Father, Shan Frost, were PRCA members.
Similarly, Josh Frost’s uncle Clyde Frost participated in the first NFR in Bareback riding in 1959. Clyde also qualified for saddle bronc riding twice.
Josh Frost’s brother, Joe Frost, is a three-time WNFR qualifier for bull riding.

Josh Frost began competing in rodeo when he was eight years old. He currently rakes #3 world bull riding.
His favorite rodeo is the Cache County Fair and Rodeo in Logan, Utah, where he competed four times and won the all-around three times. Josh’s favorite bull is American Sniper.
The 27-year-old bull rider describes his Father, brother, and college rodeo coach Robert Etabuer as his role models.
