TV personality Jenna Bush Hager isn’t the only famous member of her family! Her father is former U.S. President George W. Bush, her mom is former first lady Laura Bush and her sister is Barbara Pierce Bush. Needless to say, the Today cohost comes from a very hard-working bunch.
The beloved broadcaster was born to her famous parents on November 25, 1981. Jenna, who also arrived alongside her fraternal twin sister, Barbara, grew up in the spotlight as the former first daughter while her dad served two terms as president in the early 2000s.
The Today With Hoda and Jenna star created a beautiful family of her own after she met her now-husband, Henry Hager, in 2004. At the time, Jenna joined George’s re-election campaign while the handsome businessman was working as a staff assistant to her dad’s senior advisor. The two crossed paths on the campaign trail and their romance quickly kicked off.
In 2007, Henry got down on one knee and asked for Jenna’s hand in marriage. The following year in 2008, the happy couple tied the knot during a private ceremony at the Bush family’s secluded ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Jenna and Henry gave George and Laura their first grandchild when their eldest daughter, Margaret — who also goes by Mila — was born in 2013. The Sisters First author and her hubby expanded their family when daughter Poppy was born in 2015, followed by their youngest son, Henry, or Hal for short, in 2019.
The doting mom shares an incredible bond with her mom and dad, as well as Henry’s family. The businessman was born to dad John H. Hager and mom Margaret Hager in 1978. In August 2020, Jenna revealed their family was coping with the loss of Henry’s beloved father after he died just days before his 84th birthday.
“We lost my father-in-law, John Hager, [on] Sunday morning,” the Everything Beautiful in Its Time author emotionally penned on social media. “He was a giant of a man — although, I never saw him stand. He lived with polio — paralyzed from the waist down — in a wheelchair for 45 years.”
Despite his disability, Jenna insisted her husband’s father “lived life to the fullest.” She sweetly added, “[He] was compassionate, curious and kind. And boy, will we miss him … but as Poppy said: he is in a better place— ‘in heaven, out of his wheelchair and running.’”
