Who is Jessica St. Clair?
Jessica was born in Princeton, New Jersey USA, on 21 September 1976 – her zodiac sign is Virgo, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, film writer and producer, who has appeared in close to 100 movies and TV series, while she’s perhaps still known best for her portrayal of Debbie in the 2010 romantic comedy movie “She’s Out of My League”. It was directed by Jim Field Smith, starred Jay Baruchel, Alice Eve and T. J. Miller, and follows an average man who has starting dating the perfect woman; the movie was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie: Comedy.
Early life and education
Jessica was raised in Westfield, New Jersey by her parents Michael L. and Mary Ellen St. Clair, about whom little is known as she respects their privacy, but it’s said that her father was a veterinarian, and that her mother was a nurse. Because she hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most people believe Jessica to be an only child.
Jessica became interested in comedy while attending Westfield High School, and was the class clown, into acting, and was a member of the school’s drama club, appearing in plays performed both at the school and a community theatre. Upon matriculating in 1994, she enrolled at Middlebury College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1998.
Jessica then joined the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre as a sketch performer and regular improviser, and then in less than a year launched her career on TV.
Roles in TV series
Jessica made her debut TV series appearance in the 1999 comedy “Mother”, and the following a couple of years saw her appear in an episode or two of various comedies, including “The Colin Quinn Show”, “Things I Hate About You”, and “The Smoking Gun”.
Jessica gained recognition in 2008, when cast to play Sarah in the popular comedy “Worst Week”, created by Matt Tarses, and which starred Kyle Bornheimer, Erinn Hayes and Nancy Lenehan. It follows a young couple who are getting to know their soon-to-be in-laws; the series was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy. The year 2009 saw Jessica star in the comedy “In the Motherhood”, as well as in the episode “Yard Sale” of the comedy “Hank”.
In 2012, she was cast to star as Jessica Black in the comedy “Best Friends Forever”, which she co-created with Lennon Parham.

It follows a woman who has just gone through a divorce, and has moved in with her best friend. She made many guest appearances in the following a couple of years, including comedies such as “The Office”, “Burning Love” and “Comedy Bang! Bang!”
Between 2014 and 2017, Jessica portrayed the main character Suzanne MacNeil in the comedy “Review”, created by Jeffrey Blitz, and which also starred Andy Daly and Megan Stevenson. It follows a critic who experiences the things which he’s required to review, including criminal activities, anonymous sex, and divorce.
Three of Jessica’s most recent TV series roles have been in the 2020 episode “First Date/Snaillin’ It” of the animated short action “Close Enough” (voice role), the 2020 episode “A Fish Called Snakehead” of the animated musical comedy “Central Park” (voice role) and four episodes of the comedy “The Goldbergs” in 2020 and 2021.
Roles in movies
Jessica made her debut film appearance in the 2004 comedy “Terrorists”, and in 2006, she portrayed Hula Balls Spokeswoman in the popular comedy “For Your Consideration”. It was written and directed by Christopher Guest, starred Catherine O’Hara, Harry Shearer and Parker Posey, and follows three actors who are starring in the movie “Home for Purim”, and have heard that they’re going to be nominated for various awards; the film won three of the 17 awards for which it was nominated.
A couple of Jessica’s other roles in the 2000s were in the 2008 adventure comedy drama “College Road Trip”, the 2009 romantic comedy drama “Stay Cool” and the 2009 romantic comedy “Labor Pains”.
She played the supporting character Whitney in the critically acclaimed 2011 romantic comedy “Bridesmaids”, directed by Paul Feig, and which starred Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne. It follows the maid of honor and a bridesmaid who want to know which one of them is the bride’s best friend; the movie won 27 of the 99 awards for which it was nominated, including two Oscar nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, and Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
Jessica played Denise in the hit 2012 comedy “The Dictator”, written by Sacha Baron Cohen, who also starred in it, and she played Kristen in the 2015 crime comedy drama “Addicted to Fresno”.
Three of her most recent film roles have been in the 2018 romantic comedy drama “Dog Days”, and in 2020 the comedy “Like a Boss”, and the romantic science fiction comedy “Superintelligence”.
Other credits
Jessica has three writing, three producing and a single directing credit.
Jessica produced the 2007 episode “Action 5 News” of the comedy series “UCB Comedy Originals”, and then wrote the 2010 short comedy film “The Red Roof Inn Chronicles”. The year 2012 saw her write and produce all six episodes of the series “Best Friends Forever”, and between 2014 and 2017, she wrote and produced all 27 episodes of the series “Playing House”; also directing the 2017 episode “Cookie Jar” of the same series.

Husband and children
Jessica is quite secretive when it comes to sharing the details of her love life, but has still allowed her fans to have a glimpse into it. On 15 July 2006, she exchanged vows with the American playwright, librettist and poet Dan O’Brien, in a private ceremony attended by only a couple of their closest friends and family members; Dan is probably known best for having written the play “The Body of an American”, and most recently, “The House in Scarsdale: A Memoir for the Stage”, which won him a 2018 PEN American Award for Drama.
On 1 October 2013, Jessica gave birth to their daughter Isobel Kelly O’Brien, whom she and Dan are keeping her away from the media’s attention.
Neither of the two have spoken of any other people whom they have perhaps been with, so as of February 2022, Jessica’s married to Dan O’Brien, and they have a daughter together.
Hobbies and other interests
Jessica is quite active on Instagram, and has uploaded close to 1,000 pictures onto the network, while she’s today followed by more than 50,000 people; most of her pictures feature her during her everyday life.
Jessica’s into travelling, and her career has taken her all around the world; her dream travel destination is London, England.
Jessica’s a huge lover of animals, and although she wants to have a pet, she’s revealed that both she and her husband spend the majority of their time away from home, and would be unable to take care of it.
Jessica has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy and Julia Roberts, while a couple of her favorite films include “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”, “Meet Dave” and “The Runaway Bride”.
Surviving breast cancer
Jessica was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2015, but only revealed it to her fans two years later. She underwent a double mastectomy, and her final day of chemotherapy was in March 2016; while she and her husband were happy that her cancer was gone, they were also hit by the news that Dan had colon cancer, which he’s now also managed to beat.

Jessica is 45 years old. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes, her height is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) and she weighs around 130lbs (60kgs).
