Jian Kayo Gomes Soares was a 21-year-old goalkeeper for the Serie B club Ituan F.C. and had a promising future.
He was born on January 1, 2002, and had a bright prospect in football.
The club statement shared sadness and consternation on announcing the death of one of their beloved players.
Jian’s body was found lifeless at his residence on February 18, Saturday night. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The goalkeeper was signed by Ituano in 2021 and was a part of their under-20 squad.
He soon made an impact with his superb performances, starting in the Campeonato Paulista in 2021.
In 2022, Kayo was a starter for Ituano FC at their 2022 Copa São Paulo and Campeonato Paulista.
The 21-year-old was described as a quality player and was promoted to the professional squad in 2023.
The Serie B club sent their prayers to the deceased, his family, and friends and promised to give necessary support and attention to the family in moments of deep pain.
The statement ended by stating that additional information would be released after they got clearance from the authorities and Kayo’s family.

His former club Sao Paolo F.C. also took on Twitter to pay their obituary to the death of their former goalkeeper.
Despite the news of their player’s death, Kayo’s club Ituano F.C. played a football match on Sunday, winning 2-0 against Santo Andre at Paulist A1.
