If you’re a fan of late-night TV, chances are you’ve heard of Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon’s fake feud. These two stars have been “hating” on each other for years, and it’s become one of the most entertaining celebrity “feuds” out there.
It all started back in 2005 during the third season of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kimmel ended his show by jokingly apologizing to Damon for running out of time. According to Kimmel, he was feeling pretty bad about himself at the end of the program and decided to say it for the amusement of one of their producers. When the producer got a kick out of the joke, Kimmel decided to keep the gag running every single night.
Since then, the fake feud has become a beast of its own. The two stars have played it up with various insults on talk shows and in interviews, as well as a series of comedic videos. Most recently, they reignited their digs at each other during the red carpet premiere of Damon’s movie “Air,” where they both spoke to Entertainment Tonight.
Despite Affleck’s attempts to get the two to make peace during his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the feud continues to this day. While we couldn’t imagine a world without their infamous feud, we also can’t help but wonder what would have happened if Kimmel had uttered the name of another A-list actor back in 2005.
