Jody has several ring names such as Jody Kristofferson, Jody Reese, and Garrett Dylan. He rose to fame being the song of Kris Kristofferson. On 13th December 2008, he made his first appearance as a wrestler at a Fog City Wrestling show. He participated in a Battle Royal under his birth name but got defeated. On 26th April 2009, he took part in a North American Wrestling Show and lose to David Dutra. Finally, on 11th July, he was the victor in the 1st game, a 6-man Elimination Tag Team Match in Vendetta Pro Wrestling. There he played with Black Pearl and Chimaera Sean Pulver, Tank Alvarado & Vennis DeMarco.
After then, he played in solo matches and lost for some days. Later, he went to All-Pro Wrestling on a long term and took part there for the first time on 15th August 2009 in a six-man tag team game. Unfortunately, he again got defeated along with Oliver John and Dylan Drake to Dalton Frost, Malachi, and Vinny Massaro. He then managed to get into the final match of the APW Young Lions Cup in April 2010 but didn’t win against Corvus. On 14th January 2012, he got the victory in the APW Universal Heavyweight Championship, beating Jeckles.
Kristofferson went on to make a development contract with WWE after passing a Tryout. He made his debut on 16th February 2012 on the Tampa Show, where he, Jiro, and Kevin Hackman defeated Colin Cassady, Sakamoto, and Sonny Elliot in a six-man tag team match. On March 1, he competes in another team match, where he, Mike Dalton, Aiden English, and Colin Cassady, defeat Benicio Salazar, Nick Rogers, Sonny Elliot, and Sakamoto. At the Lake City Show two days later, he won by disqualification alongside Dante Dash against Brad Maddox and Corey Graves.

The following day, he lost to Alexander Rusev and was defeated by Byron Saxton after 2 days. With CJ Parker, Kristofferson got defeated by Ascensions Conor O’Brian and Kenneth Cameron. On 26th April’s tapings, Dylan got defeated by Alexander Rusev and Jiro, and also by CJ Parker, Mike Dalton, and Jason Jordan. Again, he wasn’t able to beat Kassius Ohno. Still, Dylan was still in the FCW to its last day which was in August 2012, just to move together with all the other amazing players to NXT. In the 25th July edition of NXT, Garrett Dylan showed his first WWE presence in a duo game together with Dante Dash. He got defeated very soon by Ascensions Conor O’Brian and Kenneth Cameron. Dylan did not even get in the ring, Dash was unsuccessful to give him the Tag. On 12th September, his 2nd game, is in single, losing against Damien Sandow.
He got back to NXT on 5th June being Scott Dawson’s Tag Team partner and Sylvester Lefort being a manager. The 2 beat Jake Carter and Brandon Traven in their 1st game. On 26th June, they were unsuccessful to be 1st candidates to the NXT pair headings, being defeated by Corey Graves and Kassius Ohno. In August 2013, he was out from WWE. He got back to the federation being Captain Comic, a member of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds on the 8th May episode of NXT. There, Camacho got the victory by beating him.
