Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner are ending their marriage, per People magazine. Baumgartner reportedly filed the divorce, prompting his representative to make a statement to People. The representative said, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” The couple’s privacy during the difficult period was also emphasized. TMZ first reported the news of the divorce.
Costner and Baumgartner got married in September 2004 after four years of dating. The wedding ceremony was held at Kevin Costner’s ranch outside Aspen. The couple shares three children: Cayden who is 15, Hayes who is 14, and Grace who is 12. Costner also has other children from his previous marriage with Cindy Silva and a former relationship with Bridget Rooney.
As for Costner’s professional life, he recently won a Golden Globe award for his work in “Yellowstone,” although he didn’t attend the ceremony.
