Lauren Boebert is an American politician and businesswoman. She is a member of the Republican Party and serves as the US representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district. She is known for her gun-rights advocacy. She is often described as a far-right ally of the former president, Donald Trump. 

She declared her candidacy for reelection in 2022. Just a couple of weeks into the primary election, Boebert has been dragged into a controversy. She has been accused of having had two abortions and working as an escort when she was a young adult by American Muckrackers, the same political action committee that targeted incendiary North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn over alleged misconduct. She has denied these allegations. She is running for second term.

Lauren Boebert was born on 19 December 1986. Her birth name is Lauren Opal Roberts. Her birth place is in Altamonte Springs, Florida in the United States. She holds American nationality.   • During the COVID-19 pandemic, she violated the state’s stay-at-home order by reopening Shooters Grill for dine-in service. She actively protested against the government’s orders to close business. Her food license was temporarily suspended.

  • Boebert received attention in September 2019 when she confronted Beto O’Rourke, a candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, at an Aurora town hall meeting over his proposal for a buy-back program and a ban on assault-style rifles like AR-15s. 
  • She opposed a measure banning guns in city-owned buildings at a meeting of the Aspen City Council. 
  • She organized the December 2019 “We Will Not Comply!” rally opposing Colorado’s red flag law, which allows guns to be taken from people deemed a threat.
