Who is Lucas Jade Zumann?

Lucas Jade Zumann was born in Chicago, Illinois USA on 12 December 2000 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor with close to 10 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his portrayal of Milo in the 2015 mystery horror thriller movie “Sinister 2”. It was directed by Ciaran Foy, starred James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon and Robert Daniel Sloan, and follows a young mother and her two sons who have moved into a haunted house; the movie won one of the four awards for which it was nominated.

Early life, brothers and education

Lucas was raised in Chicago alongside his three younger brothers, by their father Matthew Zumann, and their mother Jennifer; nothing else is known about Lucas’ family, as he respects their privacy.

He was raised Jewish and studied at Waters Elementary School, while he simultaneously attended Hebrew School. Aged nine, Lucas switched to Chicago Waldorf School, and it was around that time when he became interested in acting, appearing in numerous plays performed at the school. Aged 14, he auditioned during a Disney talent search in Chicago, and launched his acting career with his appearance in the 2015 episode “Death Doesn’t Let You Say Goodbye” of the mystery science fiction series “Sense8”; it was a hit, winning three of the 19 awards for which it was nominated, including two Primetime Emmy nominations.

Lucas matriculated in 2019, and then focused on acting, rather than pursuing a college degree.

Roles in TV series

Lucas has appeared in three TV series, including “Sense8”. In 2016, he played Lucas Hicks in the episodes “Not Everyone Makes It” and “The Path of Destruction” of the popular action drama “Chicago Fire”, created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, and which today stars Christian Stolte, Taylor Kinney and Eamonn Walker. The series follows both professional and private lives of paramedics and firefighters who are working in Chicago; it’s been airing since 2012, and has won six of the 28 awards for which it’s been nominated.

Between 2017 and 2019, Lucas starred as Gilbert Blythe in the critically acclaimed family drama “Anne with an E”, created by Moira Walley-Beckett, and which also starred Amybeth McNulty, Geraldine James and R. H. Thomson.

It follows the orphan girl Anne who’s living in the late 19th century on Prince Edward Island, Canada, and the series won 24 of the 77 awards for which it was nominated.

Roles in movies

Lucas played Henry Perry in the 2016 adventure fantasy comedy movie “Thrill Ride”, and the same year saw him portray Jamie Fields in the hit comedy drama “20th Century Women”. It was written and directed by Mike Mills, starred Annette Bening, Elle Fanning and Greta Gerwig, and follows a teenage boy who’s being raised in Southern California in 1979, by his mother and two other women; the movie won 13 of the 87 awards for which it was nominated, including an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

In 2018, Lucas was cast to play Nathan in the romantic fantasy drama “Every Day”, and in 2019, he portrayed Jeff Owings in the drama “To the Stars”.

His only other film role has been his portrayal of the lead character James Whitman, in the 2021 mystery comedy drama “Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets”, written and directed by Yaniv Raz, and which also starred Michael H. Cole and Roger Dale Floyd. It follows the 16-year-old James Whitman who’s suffering from depression and anxiety, and is seeking help from his imaginary pigeon therapist, Dr. Bird.

Other credits

Lucas could’ve been seen featured in the short documentary videos “Making 20th Century Women” and “20th Century Cast”, both released in 2017.

He made a guest appearance in the 2020 episode “Please Sign This Petition: Netflix Must Renew ‘Anne with an E’- Why Fans Are Obsessed With The Show”, of the talk-show “Hollywood Insider”.

Awards and nominations

He was nominated for a 2019 Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) Toronto Award for Outstanding Performance – Ensemble, for his and his colleagues’ performance in “Anne”.

Love life and girlfriend

Lucas prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but has still allowed his fans to have a glimpse into it.

Since July 2018, he has been in a relationship with Shannon Sullivan, an American actress and YouTuber, whose channel’s today subscribed to by more than 200,0000 people; she’s mostly focused on uploading videos which feature her talking about her everyday life. Lucas and Shannon apparently broke up in September 2021, but reconciled only a month later.

He hasn’t spoken of any other girls whom he has perhaps been with, however, there are some rumors circulating the internet claiming that Lucas is bisexual; a fan has claimed to have seen him being rather too close to his male friend at a club, but no evidence has been provided to support these claims, nor has Lucas addressed these rumors.

As of February 2022, he’s in a long-term relationship with Shannon Sullivan, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Lucas is an Instagram star, as he’s amassed more than three million followers on the network, while he’s uploaded over 100 pictures, mostly taken during his everyday life, and as Lucas is passionate about photography, the majority have been taken by him.

He’s interested in music, and can both play the guitar and sing; some of his favorite bands include The Lumineers, The Script, and The Avett Brothers.

Lucas is a huge lover of animals, and he and his girlfriend have recently acquired a pet hedgehog they’ve named Hedginald Stuart Sullivan-Zumann.

He’s into travelling, and his acting career has already taken him to a couple of US states; Lucas is apparently yet to travel overseas, but his dream travel destination is Tokyo, Japan, mostly because he’s a huge fan of Studio Ghibli’s animated movies.

He has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey and Anne Hathaway, while a couple of his favorite movies include the trilogy “The Matrix”, “The Devil’s Advocate” and “One Day”.

Lucas is 21 years old. He has short brown hair and brown eyes, his height is 5ft 8ins (1.75m) and he weighs around 145lbs (65kgs).

As of February 2022, his net worth has been estimated at more than $400,000.
