Education

MaCio Teagyue initially studied at Cincinnati, Ohio’s Summit Country Day school. However, he then switched to Florida’s Montverde Academy after attending Walnut Hills High School.

MaCio Teague began his high school education at UNC Asheville College. From 2016 to 2018, he attended that college for two years.

After that, Teague started attending Baylor College to study. He earned a degree in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies in total and graduated in 2020.

MaCio Teague | Professional Career

MaCio Teague is now a member of the NBA G League’s Salt Lake City Stars as an affiliate player. He initially took part in the NBA draft in 2021, and on August 15, 2021, he signed his first contract with the Utah Jazz.

But before the season even began in October 2021, the Jazz released him.

High School Career

MaCio Teague finished his sophomore year averaging 14.2 points per game at Summit Country Day School. MaCio spent his entire junior and senior year at Walnut Hills High School after switching schools.

As a senior in the Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational, Teague broke the school single-game scoring record with a performance of 51 points.

MaCio won the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Player of the Year, District 16 Player of the Year, and Prep Hoop Ohio Division I Player of the Year awards before his high school career came to an end.

He finished high school with an overall average of 26.4 points and 7.5 rebounds. In the end, MaCio enrolled in the postgraduate program at the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida.

College Career

UNC Asheville

On February 11, 2017, MaCio Teague, who joined UNC Asheville in 2016, got the highest point in his first year. Well, he finished his first season after taking part in 33 games and starting 32 of them.

Teague became the seventh player in league history to reach 500 points with 509 points as a freshman. He had a total scoring average of 15.4, rebounds of 4.6, and assists of 2.7 per game.

MaCio won the First Team All-Big South honor for the second year in a row during his sophomore season. In addition, he started 34 games and participated in all of them while scoring 16.7 points per game.

Teague also kept up 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while leading the Big South in three-point shooting (42.5 percent).

Teague also scored a career-high 36 points before the end of his sophomore season and nailed seven three-pointers.

Baylor

MaCio Teague transferred to Baylor College after completing his sophomore year at UNC and initially played on their practice squad there. Prior to then, he had received numerous offers from Xavier, Virginia, and Louisville.

He did, however, sign with Baylor on April 30, 2018, and as a result of NCAA transfer regulations, he missed the next season. MaCio made his Baylor debut on November 5, 2019, and recorded his season-high points on February 8, 2020.

With them, he initially posted averages of 13.9 points, 1.9 assists, and 4.6 rebounds each game. Well, in 37 minutes of a victory over Oklahoma State, he got seven rebounds in addition to his season-high 24 points.

Later, Teague made the decision to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft; he subsequently withdrew and returned to Baylor. Teague recently tied the program record on March 7, 2021, with 35 points and ten three-pointers.
