Meow wolf’s co-founder Matt King passed away unexpectedly on July 9, at 37. Matt was an excellent visual artist and creative director; he co-founded Meow Wolf in 2008. Meow Wolf announced the tragic news through a very heartfelt Instagram post.

What was the cause of the death of Matt King?

Matt died on Saturday, July 9, 2022. In the statement shared by the company, it is stated that Matt died ‘unexpectedly’, but the actual reason behind his sudden demise is yet to be disclosed by Meow Wolf.

The announcement made by the company said that “the meow wolf community is devastated and in absolute shock by the death of their co-founder, an artist and a dearest friend, Matt King. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family and everyone who knew and loved him.”

The statement also added, “Matt’s work as a collaborator and artist is incomparable, groundbreaking, monumental, and wild. His death is a tremendous loss to the world and we are extremely grateful that we got to share time and space with him. Matt is a fu—-g wizard and he is probably riding rainbows in some astral plane right now.”
