Mitchell has been a sports fan since he was a child. He had always wanted to be exceptional in any sport but had not decided on a specific sport. Later, during his adolescence, he became interested in rugby and began regularly playing and practicing the sport. He wanted to play for his current team, the Parramatta Eels, since he was a child, and he was a member of their youth team as well.
Early Days
Before being signed by the Parramatta Eels, Moses played junior football with the Holy Cross Rhinos and Carlingford Cougars. He joined Wests Tigers and participated in the Tigers S. G. Ball Cup team’s 2012 grand final victory over the Canberra Raiders. Moses transferred to another group following team decisions and protocols in 2012.
Then, he participated in the Australian Schoolboys team in 2012 and was named New South Wales Blues Origin Pathways Camp in November 2012. In 2013 and 2014, Moses was a Wests Tigers NYC squad member. Moses re-signed with the Tigers on a 4-year deal in August 2013.
Journey With Wests Tigers
Moses was named to the Wests Tigers’ inaugural Auckland Nines team in February. Moses finished his first season with one try and two goals in ten games. He played fullback for his first six NRL games before moving to the halves. The local junior was said to have had a difficult first year of school, owing to the club’s collapse on and off the field. Moses joined Luke Brooks in the halves in 2015. Moses struggled early in the season under new coach Jason Taylor’s more organized style. He was one of three Wests Tigers with 12 or more line-break assists while playing five-eighth in every game all season.
Return To Parramatta Eels
Despite being a Tigers player, Moses and the Parramatta Eels have agreed to a three-year deal that will begin in 2018. The Tigers turned down his request for an early release so he could join the Eels. Fans abused him for his actions. On May 16, he was released from his contract to join the Eels. Moses played 10 games for the Tigers before moving to Parramatta, scoring three tries and scoring 28 goals. Moses made his Eels debut at halfback on May 20 in a 16-22 loss to the Canberra Raiders. Moses played in 26 games this season, 10 for the Wests Tigers and 16 for the Eels.
He had four tries while kicking 59 goals and one field goal.
Moses committed to a $2.5 million, three-year contract on June 8 that would keep him with the team through the end of the 2022 campaign. Parramatta qualified for the finals by placing fifth overall on the table after the 2019 NRL season. Moses was the competition’s top try assist producer at the end of the regular season. Moses was selected to play halfback for the Australia PM XIII team on September 30. He received the 2019 Halfback of the Year at the Dally M Awards.
On June 8, 2019, Moses agreed to a three-year, $2.5 million contract extension that would keep him with the team until the end of the 2022 season. Parramatta qualified for the finals by finishing fifth overall in the 2019 NRL season. Moses finished the regular season as the competition’s leading try assist producer. On September 30, Moses was named to the Australia PM XIII team as a halfback. At the 2019 Dally M Awards, he was named Halfback of the Year. Parramatta finished third on the table and qualified for the finals at the conclusion of the 2020 regular season. After losing to Melbourne in the qualifying final, Parramatta faced South Sydney in the elimination final.
However, they lost the final, and the title drought for the team still prevailed.
Best Season
Moses extended his contract with Parramatta through the year 2024. Moses was chosen to play halfback for the NSW Blues in the third State of Origin match of the 2021 series. Moses had never previously represented NSW. Moses suffered a back fracture in game three of the 2021 State of Origin series, which revealed on July 20 that he would be out indefinitely. In the 2021 NRL season, Moses appeared in 22 games for Parramatta.
The 2022 season was critical for the team because they were aiming for the NRL championship this year. Moses, however, did not have a good start to the season, as he was taken off the field during the second half of the 2022 Qualifying Final after suffering a head injury in Parramatta’s 27-8 loss to Penrith. Moses shone for Parramatta against Canberra in the elimination semifinal the following week. As a result of the result, Parramatta advanced to their first preliminary final since 2009. Later, they defeated the North Queensland Cowboys in the preliminary final to advance to the grand final.
