Kody Brown had a funny way of describing his first encounter with Robyn back in 2009. He quipped on Sister Wives that she seemed like your typical soccer mom. She had a van, three kids, and was divorced. His initial thoughts? “I didn’t need a van, a divorced woman, and three kids in my life—that’s just trouble.”
Fast forward nearly a decade and a half. They’re still together, still going strong. They’ve even added to their family, with son Solomon, 12, and daughter Ariella, 7.
As for expanding the team further? Doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards. Robyn shared her thoughts on the matter during the December Sister Wives: One on One special. She admitted to struggling with the idea of bringing on more wives.
Her words? “It feels, like, ‘Oh, well. Those didn’t work. So, on to [someone] new.’” She found it hard. Really hard. To her, it felt disrespectful.
The departure of Meri, Janelle, and Christine from the family was a tough pill to swallow. And the thought of replacing them with new wives? That’s a whole other level of complexity.
