She also appeared in several TV shows, including “The Cosby Show,” “Law & Order,” and “NYPD Blue.” In 1999, she starred in the TV movie “The Parent ‘Hood,” which led to a regular role on the show.

One of her most notable film roles was in the Whitney Houston-led film “The Preacher’s Wife” (1996), in which she played the role of Julia Biggs, the wife of a pastor. She also starred in the 2003 film “School of Rock” as Rosalie Mullins, the principal of the school.
