Tamara Colbert Murder
On Saturday 24th December 2022, Christmas Eve, Tamara Colbert was found dead in a third-floor bathroom at her Pennsylvania home in the late afternoon on Christmas Eve.
According to the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, on December 24, 2022, the Hampden Township Police Department responded to a call for a welfare check. Officers discovered the 39-year-old newlywed dead inside the residence on Wild Orchid Lane in the census-designated place of Enola.
She’d been shot in the head once. According to police, a suicide note covered in blood was discovered at the scene of the crime, but no suicide occurred that day. The police officer has alleged that Tamara’s husband Christopher Colbert killed his wife during a domestic dispute on that day.

According to CBS 21 in Harrisburg, Christopher called his father in Florida on Christmas Eve and told him Tamara had shot herself. His father later told police that his son was “irrational, emotional, and not completing sentences,” according to PennLive.
The line went dead, and the father tried to reach his son for several minutes. When he couldn’t, he called Hampden Township police, who dispatched officers to the couple’s home to check on their well-being.
According to PennLive, officers discovered Christopher Colbert sitting in his car inside the garage, with alcohol on his breath and blood on his head. According to court documents obtained by the news outlet, a pistol was nearby. Moreover, the couple married in February 2022 and had been married for 10 months at the time of the shooting, PennLive reported.
Tamara Colbert – Aftermath
Christopher was charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment at first. An autopsy, however, determined that Tamara Colbert’s gunshot wound to the top of her head was the result of homicide, not suicide. According to PennLive, the autopsy revealed internal signs of strangulation.
Christopher allegedly wrote in the blood-splattered note found inside the house that there was no one he loved more than his wife. Moreover, Christopher is being held without bond in the Cumberland County Jail. On December 29, 2023, the defendant was arraigned. His next court appearance was scheduled for January 12, 2023, before Judge Kathryn H. Silcox.
He’s been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, and tampering with physical evidence. According to court records, he was denied bond. It’s unclear whether he has entered a plea or hired a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
