Early Life
Taran Killam was born Taran Hourie Killam on April 1, 1982, in Culver City, California. Taran’s mother is a singer-songwriter who toured with The Charlie Daniels Band, and his father was a member of the City Garage Theatre Group. Killam’s great-aunt was actress Rosemarie Stack, who was married to actor/”Unsolved Mysteries” host Robert Stack. Taran grew up in Big Bear Lake, California, and he has a brother named Taylor. He studied at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, then he enrolled at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, where he met future “Saturday Night Live” castmate Mikey Day.
