Influencer marketing is synonymous with the modern sports industry. Many companies in the industry use these highly effective marketing strategies to propel their growth. Brand ambassadors and influencers are well worth the investment and effort. It’s incredible how easily celebrities can influence sales by increasing social media metrics, spreading positive attitudes, and, almost instantly, building a reputation for the brands they represent.

The iGaming industry is increasingly adopting the strategy of collaborating with celebrities. World-class figures in this field include Nicki Minaj, Mike Tyson, CR7, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, the list is growing at nearly the same rate as the iGaming industry.

Some companies prefer local celebrities because of their enormous influence in specific iGaming markets. Paridirect is a new African iGaming and sports betting brand that has partnered with young African musicians as brand ambassadors. The company is interested in popular musicians because of their influential notability in the rapidly growing market. With their celebrity status, they reach the trendy young population that is expected to grow the African iGaming industry by 12% by 2025.

With such a young population, it’s no surprise that the industry is recruiting African music and sports stars as ambassadors, ushering in a new breed of influencers. The win-win situation is unequivocal. Among these celebrities are:

Sam Samouraï

Sam Samouraï, real name Josué Ulrich Mbemba, was born on July 19, 2000 in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo. He is a Congolese artist, rapper, author, and composer, and one of the most prominent figures in the Congolese artist scene. He has also written several successful hits, including SAPO GANG Parts 2 and 3.

Sam Samouraï is a Paridirect ambassador in Congo-Brazzaville. The artist was delighted to accept the ambassadorial position from the country’s online sports company. He has so far been able to boost the brand image of this Paris sports company. Despite having just established itself in Congo. Sam was one of the artists who took part in the June Urbain Brazza event.

Mr Eazi

Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, was appointed as an ambassador at betPawa in 2021. The Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur was named the sports betting company’s continental brand ambassador.

betPawa is a well-known iGaming platform that operates in eight African countries, including Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. The company has recently begun operations in Rwanda. It has grown in size and reputation in Africa since its inception in 2013.

Mr Eazi was chosen by betPawa due to his popularity in the music industry. The singer is best known for his 2016 hit song “Skin Tight.” However, he has made a name for himself in business throughout Africa. Prior to his selection, he was prospecting in Rwanda for sports betting, fintech, and music businesses. The multimillion-dollar ambassadorial role in a company that had just begun operations in Central Africa was a dream come true.

Busisiwe “Busi96” Masango-Steenkamp

“Busi96” Busisiwe Masango-Steenkamp is yet another young celebrity promoting an iGaming brand. Goliath Gaming, a leading South African gaming company, signed the 26-year-old football star for the role.

During a FIFA Play Like A Girl initiative, the avid footballer piqued the interest of Goliath FIFA players “YvngSavage” and “Beast.” Busisiwe was given the opportunity to face Beast. Despite the fact that the latter won, she praised Busisiwe for her unique gameplay and ability to read opponents. Busisiwe’s enthusiasm for playing women’s FIFA was noted by Goliath Gaming. The company wanted her to be an ambassador, informing other young women about the trials taking place in their areas.

The ardent supporter has evolved into a fantastic content creator specializing in women’s soccer. Goliath Gaming commended the football fan for her enthusiasm while playing the game. It signed the young lady because of her excellent playing potential and the opportunity to support other struggling but promising female players. The company’s assistance has raised its standing among South African iGaming companies.

After signing, Busisiwe established Bring the Ball, an initiative that helps women in soccer. She is always involved in a variety of related activities, such as providing soccer training equipment, boots, and kits. She has also enhanced Goliath Gaming’s reputation for providing sanitary items to underprivileged girls. Busisiwe continues to push herself in her FIFA career as well as leveraging the given opportunity to impact others.

Final Thoughts

The iGaming industry is at an all-time high and is expected to expand further in the near future. Companies seeking fast growth are expected to continue seeking the services of similarly influential persons to help conquer specific markets.
