Who is Bryce Laspisa?
Bryce was born in Springfield, Illinois USA, on 30 April 1994 – his zodiac sign is Taurus, and he holds American nationality. Bryce disappeared on 30 August 2013, while on his way to his parents’ house, and hasn’t been found to this day.
Early life and education
Bryce was raised in Springfield as an only child, by his father Michael Laspisa and his mother Karen; they were already elderly people when they became parents to Bryce, and retired around the same time that Bryce completed his high school education.
He grew up being interested in various kinds of art, especially painting and photography, and was also a highly sociable person who had many friends at both his elementary and later Naperville High School.
After Bryce matriculated in 2012, the family moved to Laguna Niguel, Orange County, California, while he then moved away from his parents to Chico, California, and enrolled at Sierra College to study graphic and industrial design, but completed only two semesters prior to his disappearance.
Bryce’s disappearance
Very early in the morning of 29 August 2013, Bryce got into his car and started driving towards his parents’ house, which was supposed to be a three-hour drive. The last time his mother had heard from him was at 2 a.m. on 30 August, when he called her and said that he had to stop in the Sierra Pelona Mountains, to the side of Interstate 5.
Later that day, police came knocking on Michael and Karen’s doors, sharing with them the news of finding Bryce’s car wrecked in the vicinity of Castaic Lake. No trace of the boy was found, and his disappearance still remains an unsolved mystery.
What led to his disappearance?
Bryce’s parents have revealed that Bryce had changed his behavior some time before he disappeared. He became less friendly, withdrawn and erratic, which lead them to believe that he was suffering from depression. At one point, Bryce told his roommate Sean Dixon and girlfriend Kim Sly that he was using the drug Vyvanse, which is normally used to treat ADHD, a condition which Bryce wasn’t suffering from; it’s known that the drug has several unpleasant side effects, including depression and mania.

Bryce had also become addicted to alcohol, and would become very drunk every weekend. Three days prior to his disappearance, Bryce broke up with his girlfriend via text message, claiming that she would be better off without him, while he had also sent a text message to his roommate Sean with the following content: ‘I love you bro, seriously. You are the best person I’ve ever met. You saved my soul.’ Bryce then gave his Xbox console to Sean, and also gave someone an expensive pair of diamond earrings which he had.
Sean contacted Bryce’s parents on 28 August, to tell them that he was worried about him, and later that day, Bryce came to Kim’s house to talk about their break-up; Kim was clearly worried about Bryce, and because of it took the keys to his Toyota Highlander.
Bryce called his mother and told her about the argument which he was having with Kim, and Karen thus convinced Kim to return Bryce his keys, so that he could go home to sleep; Karen even suggested coming to Bryce and spending some time with him, but he refused.
Only a couple of hours later, now just a bit over a day away from Bryce’s disappearance, he called his mother and told her that he had a lot to talk to her about. He started driving towards his mother’s home at around midnight, and the police established that he was an hour’s drive south of Rocklin when he called his mother on her cellphone at 1 a.m. (29 August).
A man named Christian contacted Bryce’s parents, telling them that Bryce had come on foot to his Castro Tire and Gas station at around 11 a.m., and that he gave Bryce three gallons of gasoline because he had told him that he had run out of fuel.
After Christian went to check up on Bryce at the location where his car had stopped, he discovered that he hadn’t moved from the place in several hours; it was already 3 p.m. at that time. Christian told him that his parents were worried, and managed to convince him to continue driving towards them.
Several hours later, Michael and Karen called the police who checked the road for Bryce, and found him only a couple of miles away from where he was when Christian had found him; the two police officers who spoke to Bryce revealed that he was friendly, and wasn’t intoxicated or on drugs.
Bryce contacted his mother at 2 a.m. on 30 August, and that was the last time that anybody heard from him.
There are several theories about what has happened to Bryce, but only two stand out: some people believe that he committed suicide, while other’s claim that he chose to disappear, and has started a new life, under a new identity.
Love life and girlfriend
There’s only one girl whom Bryce had dated, that the public knows about, and that was Kim Sly, whom he met upon enrolling at Sierra College.
Bryce and Kim started dating only a couple of days after having been introduced by a mutual friend, and they seemed to be happy together. They often studied and went out together, and most of their friends described them as a happy couple.

Bryce and Kim shared many interests, particularly art, while Kim also occasionally played video games with Bryce.
It was when Bryce broke up with Kim that she knew something was wrong, as nothing bad had happened between them to have caused their split.
Hobbies and interesting facts
Bryce had an Instagram account which is still open today – the last picture was uploaded onto it only three days prior to his disappearance, featuring Bryce showing off the video game “Madden 25” which he had bought.
He was a cat-lover, and had a pet cat which can still be seen featured in one of his Instagram pictures.
Bryce was a fan of tattoos, and had a large one on his left arm.
He preferred summer over other seasons, as he enjoyed spending time at the beach and playing beach sports.
Bryce enjoyed watching movies in his spare time – his favorite actor and actress were Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, while a couple of his favorite movies were “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, “The Number 23”, and “Bruce Almighty”.
Age, height and net worth
If Bryce is still alive today, he’s almost 28 years old. He has short ginger hair and brown eyes, his height is 6ft (1.85m) and he weighs around 170lbs (80kgs).
Bryce didn’t have his own independent net worth at the time of his disappearance.
