Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed, had a bit of a brain freeze moment when he first met Taylor Swift. This happened at Travis’ house, before a Kansas City Chiefs game. It was in the early stages of the couple’s relationship.
Ed recalled the incident during an interview on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, on January 26. He said, “When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town for the game, they all meet at his house. Even though Travis isn’t there.”
Ed spotted Taylor among the crowd of friends. He turned to his girlfriend, Maureen, and said, “Oh my god, I recognize this kid, but I can’t remember her name.”
Ed continued, “Jeez, I felt like such an idiot.” His girlfriend, thankfully, was there to save the day.
“And she says, ‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot,’” Ed shared.
After spending some time with the Grammy-winning singer, Ed was convinced of her genuine talent. He said, “I think she’s out there following her passion. She’s doing what she knows and loves, and people are just throwing money at her, you know what I mean?”
